Report:  29th May Game.  A cold wet Saturday saw Sydenhams home advantage washed down the drain as Sydenham Park along with many others around Christchurch was closed.  The game was played on a newly upgraded Linfield 1 and although the game result was far from ideal, the field held up well in challenging conditions.

Down at half time and keen to turn things around Linwood played on, but Sydenham was just too strong.  Final score Linwood 9, Sydenham 19.  Player of the Day, Andrew "Milky" Letham.

Report:  22nd May Game.  Down on the points board at half time.  What was said in the changing sheds during the half time break is known only to the players, but something made them look deep and pull out a greatly improved second half.  Two tries apiece to Shaun "Cliffy" Lyons and Kieran "Moffy" Moffat in the second half, alongside one from hooker Steve Fualau, first five Josh Hall, wing Karl Uielea and fullback Milky Letham.

Our hearts go out to Linwood Crusaders: Ben Franks, Owen Franks and Sean Maitland after their Super 14 semi-final loss to the Bulls in South Africa.

And congratulations to Karl Uielea on his 25th Senior Game and Julian Poff on his 50th Senior Game.

Report:  15th May Game.  Linwood were able to trounce all over Lincoln University (coached by former Linwood coaches Allan “Curly” Lindsay and Mark “Herb” Herbert.  Hooker Steve Fualau scored a hat-trick of tries with Karl Uilelea nailing a double, Milky Letham, Cliffy Lyons and Matty Latham also dotted over.  Josh Hall converted 7 of the 8 tries.  Saturday also celebrated Kodi Hepi’s 50th Senior Game.  And lastly we wish Ben, Owen and Sean the best of luck taking on the Bulls this weekend over in South Africa in the Super 14 semi-finals.  Their form over the weekend against the Brumbies was outstanding and as a club we are very proud of their efforts!  And a huge thanks for coming down and supporting our Linwood teams on the weekend!

Great Linwood Men!

Report:  8th May Game.  "Two second-half tries to left wing Karl Uilelea gave Linwood a confidence-boosting win over Burnside at Rugby Park.  Having taken a 3-0 lead into halftime, Burnside failed to capitalise on the opportunity to bounce back to winning ways.  Linwood proved too much to handle durning the second spell, powering to a 22-9 victory."  The Press 10/05/10.

Report:  1st May Game.  Div One played newly promoted Sumner on Saturday with a good result.  Two tries to new Bull; Lucky Mulipula and one apiece to Siologa Leota and Steve Fualau and three conversions and a penalty to first five Josh Hall made the task for Sumner too great - even at their beloved St Leonards Park.

Report:  17th April Game.  Our Division One side took on University out at Ilam Park, challenging not only for competition points but also for the prestigious DCL Shield. Linwood was up at half time 19-8 and looking towards opening a try-scoring feast as they did last week, however University had different plans, they were strong on defense and proved that this season they were not going to be pushed to the bottom of the table without a fight. With the score sitting at 22-21 to Linwood with just minutes to go, loosehead prop Tulima Fualau barged over the tryline to seal the win and the DCL Shield. Well done to our Senior team, management and supporters!! The next challenge is winning the shield again next week against last season’s competition winners and profoundly strong club - Christchurch. Make sure you get down and support the mighty Green & Blacks!!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Sean Maitland the big winner at CRFU awards

A big congratulations from everyone involved within the club to the Canterbury NPC team on their Championship Win!!  A great effort from the whole Canterbury team especially our fine Linwood men who contributed to the 2009 success;  Sean Maitland, James Broadhurst, Willie Heinz and Steve Fualau.

Also congratulation to Fraser Middleton and Andrew Latham for being involved in the Meads Cup final in 2009.

Well done to Sean Maitland and Ben and Owen Franks, for being selected in the 2010 Crusaders Squad, also to James Broadhurst for selection in the Hurricanes squad and our former Linwood Bulls player Culum Rettalick being selected in the Chiefs squad.

And lastly but certainly not least;  to Volney Rouse who has been selected in the USA 7's team.  Well done and good luck for the upcoming 7's curcuit!!

~ Doing Linwood Proud ~

The weather was average to say the least, but the atmosphere at Rugby Park on Sunday was really quite magical.

From 1.30pm when kids and parents arrived at Malvern Park to get their faces painted in our proud stripes to the final whistle we stood tall and backed our fine men for their courage, skill, passion and heart.

Not for 31 years have our colours been in a final and the occassion bought out many faces from the past.

The drizzley wet conditions didnt quite suit our style of game and experienced finals team Christchurch played very well. The final result didnt go our way but the key word echoed around the clubrooms last night was Pride. Business Manager Dave Sloss, Club President Tane Norton, Club Captain Jim Wells and Team Captain Willie Heinz all emphasised that one word - Pride.

We didnt quite bring home gold, but it was a gallant effort from a team worthy of higher honours.

With the season done now for Division One, our men can hang up their boots for a month or two before our next endeavour. Keep tuned for the Running of the Bulls 2010!!
